FAQ

What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is bracelets, anklets and necklaces made out of dainty (and sparkly!) 14k gold-filled, sterling silver, or 14k solid gold chain that is custom measured and cut to each customer's preference, and then welded closed with a micro-welder creating a seamless piece of jewelry that never needs to be taken on or off! Oh, and hooray for no more ill-fitting jewelry! You can stack, mix metals, and add charms. So many ways to customize your jewelry and make it special!

If it's permanent, does that mean it will never come off?

While our bracelets are made to stay on, if you need to remove them for any reason gently use a pair of scissors or nail clippers and cut your piece at the welded link.  We'll point this link out to you while you're with us! Keep your chain and you can bring it back in when you're ready to wear it again! We'll happily reweld it for a $10 service fee.

Please note: chains cut off anywhere besides the welded link or that are stretched or broken beyond repair are not able to be re-attached and a new chain will have to be purchased.

Can I change my mind after getting a jewelry piece put on?

Unfortunately, no.  Once your chain has been custom-measured to fit you and has been cut, it is final sale.  So please be sure you love your chain before it is measured and cut!

While we do our very best to educate our customers on selecting the best sizing for them, if you later are unhappy with the sizing you've selected, there are some limitations, but we are able to offer some options. There is a reworking fee of $10-25. To make it smaller, we can easily remove links. To make it bigger is a bit more tricky. Unless you've selected a chain that a second jump ring can be seamlessly hidden, adding a charm or two may be your only option. Our charms range from $6-25.

What are your chains made out of?

We offer a variety of chains to fit everyone's style! Our most popular chains are 14k gold-filled, which are tarnish-resistant, water-friendly, and at a more affordable price point than solid 14k gold. 14k gold-filled should not be confused with gold plated or costume jewelry. Instead of plating, which generally wears off quickly and can turn skin green, we use only the highest quality 14k gold-filled products. 14k gold-filled chains consist of 5% 14k gold, whereas plated items contain no gold. 14k gold-filled chains have a jewelers brass core, and then have 5-6 layers of 14k gold pressure bonded to the outside. This is what gives a lower price point than solid gold, but a much better wear than gold plated items. When taken care of properly, 14k gold-filled pieces can last years. However, we do all use different skin products and have different pH balances. Some people who run more acidic may experience a change in their 14k gold-filled chains, while others will not. While tarnishing is very rare, it is possible under just the right circumstances. If it is something you're worried about, we recommend you go with one of our 14k solid gold chain options! We also offer sterling silver options for our silver lovers!

What if my chain breaks?

We ensure the integrity of our weld at the time of your service, however things happen! As a reminder though, just because our pieces are designed to be "permanent", it does not equal invincible.  Like any other dainty piece of jewelry, you must take care to keep your jewelry in good condition and if pulled hard enough they may break. They can also break overtime with normal wear and tear, and depending on if you selected a more delicate chain style or a heftier style. Your lifestyle and daily activities can also affect the durability and longevity of your chain. We do guarantee our welds, so if your chain breaks due to a malfunction at the welded link (not due to being cut, caught, or broken), bring your chain and receipt, and we'll gladly reweld it for you at no cost! This does not apply to chains broken due to normal wear and tear or accidental damage, and we cannot replace missing chains. If your chain breaks at a place different than the welded link, we can still repair it with a new jump ring ($10 service fee) or by adding a charm to that spot ($6-25

If your piece breaks beyond repair within the first 6 months, we will allow you to purchase a new chain at half the price of the original item that was purchased.

Can I wear my permanent jewelry through the airport?

Yes, our chains are TSA friendly (and we've personally tested it!) so you will never need to worry about taking them off.

Where can I find you?

You can find us inside St. Michael Boutique Monday, Wednesday-Friday, and some Saturdays. Our address is 5676 La Centre Avenue NE, Ste. 204, Albertville, MN 55301. On some Saturdays you can find us at local pop-ups. Follow us on our socials to stay in the know!

Can my child get a permanent bracelet?

While we think littles look so cute with our dainty bracelets, jewelry can be dangerous on young children due to possible choking hazards. Due to this, we will only weld bracelets on children over the age of 8.  However, we can still custom measure a bracelet with a clasp for children under the age of 8, as a safer alternative to be removed when not supervised by an adult.

What is the deposit for when booking?

Due to an increase in people trying to fit on our schedule, and an increase in no-shows or last-minute cancellations, we're now requiring deposits when scheduling. The deposit is applied to your total during your in-person checkout, and is refundable as long as you reschedule or cancel more than 24hrs in advanced. If you ask to cancel or reschedule with less than 24hrs notice, your deposit will not be refunded.
